If you can't solder, get this.
Hi, very easy to fit, if you can't solder (just like I can't). If your eyes are failing, I'd suggest using a magnifying glass to get the pins in the holes. I used a combination of tweezers and my nimble fingers. Once installed the chip just slots on. First power on I had flashing lights everywhere. The chip wasn't seated right. Once that was sorted, no problems. Flashed bios over HTTP with no problems. Easy to order from Kanection and delivery very fast.

A really quick and simple solution for modding the Xbox. Does require fine needle nosed pliers and tweezers but having done the LPC rebuild and solder option this is the way to go. Only down side is the HDD and LAN LED's don't function with the solderless option, which is a shame because they add a cool feature to the box. That said will definitely be doing it this way in future.

Very easy to use but I find out that in transit the legs come out of the holes so when its all working I put a blob of hot glue over the top of the pin and it stays in place :)

Not Nearly As Hard As It Looks
This was a perfect solution. Soldering was out of the question, sending my XBox in was too expensive, so I bought the Xapter and the Torx screwdriver set along with the Xecuter. The only problem, as most have highlighted, is with the placement of the tiny legs. Points D and E were especially hard to connect, and was only possible with the help of long tweezers. But no mess, very little fuss and completely safe.

Solderless Adapter
Just what the doctor ordered. I had a 1.6b which was ready for the bin. Showing an eary error 16 with no boot. But with the Xecuter2.6 and this magic solderless adapter it breaths again.

Fast delivery. Fitting is not easy if you have a certain motherboard version.
I've fitted 2 of these, 1 to an Xbox 1.6 and 1 to a 1.6b. It was not as easy to fit to the 1.6 because the tiny holes on the motherboard were filled with a lacquer making it nearly impossible to insert the legs. 2/5 I don't know if all 1.6 Xbox’s are the same. Fitting to the 1.6b was very easy. 5/5! Top tip: don't use the supplied screw, instead use the screw from your motherboard, it's much more robust. Also, hard disk and network activity lights won't work unless soldered.

Great!
Wasn't sure how it would go, and even though I'm comfortable with an iron, I don't have one so figured I may as well spend the 15 quid on this rather than on all the tools... It does take a fine eye and a steady hand to get it, but once it was all in place it was brilliant... and you don't even need to close the box up to test if it works!! Great product and a much better road than the soldering option I reckon. You'd have to do something really wrong to stuff up your box trying to install this!!...

X3 Solderless Adapter 1.6
3rd Xbox chipped and would recommend these to anyone!! Fantastic product, great instructions and easier than solder. Recommended. Also bought the x3 adapter for 1.4 models, also excellent.
