Excellent Chip
I bought the chip and got stuck into a friend’s Xbox, which was a v1.6. I have not had a lot of experience with soldering, but the chip went in with no trouble, and the bios installed first go. I have since bought my own Xbox and chipped it. This is a great chip and the bios will support large hard drives. Great customer support and a fast delivery.

Outstanding
My first chip was faulty - my box would not boot with the chip plugged in. Kanection took the chip back, flashed it and sent it back. It still did not work. I had tested my install using a known good chip, it was fine. Kanection sent me a replacement and now all is good. My point is kanection stuck with me all the way until this was resolved, and every time i called them i got to speak to a real person right away! Top marks. Note for potential buyers - for 1.0 - 1.5 Xboxes this is pretty easy to install - 1.6 is alot more difficult having to rebuild the PCB Microsoft altered! Still, at the very least use a decent iron and if you’re new to soldering, read a guide and practice on some old electronics. :)

I am a complete muppet with these things but it was so easy! I cannot rate this high enough, but this gets a 10/5, it's that good! Advice though! Do your reading before hand so when you come to flash the kit, it will work! If you are a noob like me, get the AID installer, it will save you so much time when you bung in a new HD for your spanking new Kanection MC!

Excellent modchip - Great service
I was grateful for a quick delivery of the “Xecuter 2.6 CE Mod Chip” which came the next day. More importantly to me was the friendly and efficient manner in which they were able to support me over the ‘phone. A couple of quick five minute chats to the staff got me through the little hurdle(s) and I was soon up and running with a full blown multimedia Xbox. If there was an area that would benefit from a little enhancement, it would be a clear indication as to what’s required for the v1.6 Xbox, so that complete beginners like me would feel they had a clear way forward and wouldn’t need to trouble them directly. e.g. “For a v1.6 install, you will need to solder the LPC Rebuild for 1.6 consoles, then the pin header, then the three cables (two cables of which have 4 wires in total a single red power wire on its own connector and another three on another connector). Follow wiring diagrams for locating and soldering all relevant points.” This isn’t to diminish the excellent service and I would most certainly recommend them to anyone else looking for such a modchip and great service.

Great Chip - Great Service
Very good quality item (everything is included for modding all Xbox’s) Very fast delivery, good price, staff are friendly and helpful too! The only very slight downside is that the instructions aren't very obvious to a complete beginner like myself - However, after doing it for a first time (successfully!) Personally I found the wireless one quite tricky to install, certainly need a little soldering iron tip. But the mod chip works really well and doesn’t take long to install. Just one little note, for people like me who don't bother reading instructions you do need an official xbox controller to install otherwise you spend an hour confused about why you can't access the menu's.

My first Xecuter 2.6 chip broke (my fault due to poor soldering job). A replacement was cheap and arrived in under 48 hours from ordering to delivery. Installed it in 15mins, and this time I remembered to switch flash protection off.

Struggling
In the past I have installed a few mod chips for PlayStation one without error, but I have well and truly messed this up. I thought I was OK at soldering but that was obviously wrong. Should have purchased the solderless kit with it. Can't really give this a bad score as it probably works, but now I have the situation where I have a knackered Xbox, with a cost of £45 to fix and install the chip. That will be £65 in total spent. Oh well, we all learn the hard way!

Instructions are as clear as mud. That's my xbox knackered. Bet they don't show this review. Editor: That’s where you’re wrong. We always show reviews if they are useful. The problem you have had shows that you can cause problems if you are not experienced in soldering. For people who are not experienced in soldering we always recommend the Xecuter with the Xapter. This requires no soldering and just screws in. Please contact us directly. We will almost certainly be able to repair your Xbox.

Quick fit
This is a spot on chip for the Xbox. Just fitted this to a 1.6b with the solderless adapter. Apart from needing 20/20 vision to see the holes and spinderly fingers it was virtually plug and play and it worked first time. Also comes with fool proof instructions which is a god send. I give this product 10 thumbs up. )

An excellent product and equally excellent service from Kanection. Some points.... (on xbox 1.6) Careful with the LPC PCB and its solder points, very easy to miss the one on the top right and middle bottom. Easier to solder the pin header before the LPC PCB is fitted (but don't use too much solder). Read up before you flash the BIOS !!! Best to have the cromwell bios on the first 256k blocks and another bios on last two 256k blocks. All in all, fairly easy to do. Make sure you have the right tools for the job though.

Excellent mod chip. I have noticed sometimes that the mod chip board doesn't always want to sit solid on the pins, I find a small piece of rubber on top of the board keeps the small board in place nice and tight under the DVD Drive. Once again this company provides a service that leaves other online companies in the shade. Ordered Friday received Saturday 10/10.

This was so easy it's unbelievable. The only problem I had with the BIOS was not reading the bit about renaming my new bios to "BIOS.BIN", once I had done that everything went smoothly. I also agree with the advice about finding a decent screw, otherwise the adapter just pops back out its slot. Altogether 30 mins work including bios update.

I've bought several mod chips as well as other items from Kanection over the last few months, and service has been excellent. Good after sales service too. The Xectuter is a very good mod chip and easy to fit, be prepared to do a lot of reading, the info is out there. Also get the LPC Rebuild card if your BOX is under 12 months. And I do recommend buying a programmer, even an experienced chipper loads the wrong BIOS now and again.

Easier than I thought!
I haven't done any soldering in years so I was a bit wary. However it turned out to be easy. Point d0 is a bit small so you'll need fine pointed iron. The other review about using masking tape to hold the pins is a good tip. It was well worth the risk. I'm now confident to try it again.

5 out of 5 for the mod chip. 3 out of 5 for the Xaptor. I found the Xaptor very easy to fit but for reliability I prefer to solder the chip in. The dreaded d0 is not as hard as everyone makes out. 5/5 for speed of delivery and 5/5 for technical support. Keep up the good work guys.

Just finished installing my second batch of 2.6's As usual chips came in perfect condition and well packaged :) For anyone concidering buying an Xecuter 2.6 you cant go wrong! Both the chips and Kanection can be trusted 100% If you're planning on installing a mod chip for the first time then while your waiting for your chip/s to arrive do your homework! Check out some forums and make sure you know what's what. This can save a great deal of time. Failing that read the information slip that comes with your chip/s BEFORE you touch your box! :)

Installed a few of these now, bit of a mess about on the 1.6's but overall impressed. All I need now is a gizmo to hold the pin header in place while im soldering it! :D Edit: Insulation tape is ideal for keeping the pin header in place while you solder it.

This was my fisrt x-box install, so i chose to use the Xapter install method (Did not want to risk damaging the x-box on first attempt), the install went pretty smoothly, except that the lead to connect the switch bank to the chip was a very tight fit and then the switch bank had different colour leds to what I expected which confused me slightly when it came to flashing, other than that its a nice mod, I will use pin header on my own x-box though. Good product from a great supplier.

Was very dubious about installing then flashing bios on Xecuter 2.3b lite. But all went well and is working fine. Only difficult part is the d/o point..very small not much bigger than pin head.But dont let me put you off..if I can do it anyone can plus excellent fiendly support if needed...well done guys 10/10

Simply Amazing value for money and quality item
I ordered an Xecuter 2.3B Mod chip and it arrived much quicker than I had expected. The mod chip, the cables, the pin header etc are of the highest quality. Installation was very straight forward, I powered up the X-Box and did the BIOS update and the machine was ready to rock. I can't recommend Kanection.co.uk highly enough. Well done people, expect more business from me!

Superb Service and Product
Decided against getting one of the "Plus" models of the 2.3B Lite chip so ordered the normal 2.3B Lite from Kanection. Ordered on Wed morning, came by Thurs morning :-) Was expecting it to be a bit bigger (all the pictures you see in tutorials are up CLOSE!) but was packaged very well. Installation was a breeze apart from the D0 point, it's a small area to solder onto! Put it all back together, turned it on and I'm in business :)

Ok first things first. I installed the solderless one, which is supposed to be easier :) Well not too sure about that as getting good contact on D0 point was tricky but got their in the end, a wee vodka kinda settles the nerves a wee bit :).Seems to work well enough, delivery was great arrived as expected.

Excellent quick delivery of chip, easy to install as long as you know how to use a soldering iron. Had mine up and running within 20 mins with no problems, BUT, Please make sure that you know where to get the BIOS you require first, this will save you so much time when you recieve the Mod. I flashed the BIOS from DVD, so no real need for the programmer, Plenty of sites will tell how this is done (look around). I am now have a Ver 1.5 Crystal XBox with an Xecuter 2.3b lite chip and 120mb Maxtor DiamondPlus HDD running just as I wanted it. Thanks Kanection. "I'll Be Back"

The chip arrived very quickly and was super easy to install. The only problem I had was installing new bios but this was fixed by using good quality branded dvds and not cheapo ones - Ritek recomended!!! Then it was easy. Many thanks. Be recomending your product to my mates

Great chip
Hey, I installed this chip without any experience of soldering and it went sweet. Just make sure you have the right equipment and take your time. Note I read alot of tutorials before I did the install but dont worry YOU CAN DO IT :). Thumbs up to Kanection as well for fast and reliable service. Great job guys, keep it up.

Well after a few purchases of the Xecuter 2 series and an external programer the Xecuter is by far the easiest to install although I had a few problems with a 1.5 box and the 2.3b also a few problems flashing the bloody thing..but all is good I would recomend it to all that purchase a Xbox... Especially from KANECTION great buch of people and great help ... thanks guys .. keep up the good Work.. :) ps..anyone get the 2.3b to work with the 2.2 external programer.? email me..thanks

Perfect........Just Perfect !!!!
Ok...Over a period of 2 months I have ordered 5 of these mods and I have waited to find fault before reviewing. The truth is I cant fault them. The instructions aren't great but all you need to know is on this site and it REALLY !!! is easy to install. Once you have fitted one you wont forget and you will wonder what the worry was about. On a further note there is Delivery and service....SPOT ON !!! You are well informed through out the whole process and i have had 2 chips before my mail has arrived telling me they have been despached but NOTE....Recorded delivery must be signed for ( And thats the cheapest service provided )....So make sure you dont miss the postie or you may think its lost.

Superb quality modchip !
Comes with all parts & connectors you'll need and can be installed via 2 methods, though I always go for the pin header method for a pro finish, plus you can see the cool blue leds through the outer xbox case vents. Bios flashes no probs. I always use these mods for my installs. Great stuff!
